IITMAANA established the IITMAANA Travel Grant Endowment at IIT Madras. This endowment will be used to support the IITMAANA Travel Grant program, now in its tenth year. We appeal to all IIT Madras alumni and IITMAANA friends to support the endowment.

The IIT Council in September of 2010 gave approval for IITs to start medical courses, induct foreign nationals for permanent faculty positions, and admit foreign students for PG courses.

IITMAANA launched the IITMAANA Recurring Giving Plan earlier in March of this year, allowing IITMAANA members and friends to contribute monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, annually, using a credit-card or an electronic-check.

IITMAANA hosted six IIT Madras students who received grants from the IITMAANA Travel Grant program to attend an International Business Plan competition at University of San Francisco and a Students Entrepreneurship summit at Stanford University.

IIT JEE 2010 results were announced on May 26. Out of about 455,571 applicants, 13,104 (about 3%) qualified for 9,509 seats. The IIT Madras zone secured the most ranks in the top 100.

IIT Madras and Trivitron partner to setup a center for innovation with focus on research and development of biomedical devices at IIT Madras. IIT Madras alumnus and faculty - Prof Krishnakumar will be heading the center.

Prof K Ramamurthy - IIT Madras Class of 1985 and Class of 1991 and faculty is the new Dean - Academic Courses at IIT Madras.
