In accordance with IITMAANA Constitution Section 2.4, this letter is to advise the membership of the upcoming Executive Board 2005 Elections, and call for Nominations. Any IITMAANA member registered in our database, and resident in North America (USA, Canada, Mexico) is eligible to stand for any of the positions, but needs to be nominated by two members.
Positions to be elected: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer
All North American resident IIT Madras alumni registered in our database as of November 11, 2005 were eligible to vote.

We closed the voting for the position of secretary on November 20th . The votes are now verified and counted. And the winner is Sridhar Lavu. Both Rosemary Fernandes and Sridhar ran a vigorous campaign that resulted in substantial support for both. We thank both candidates for their effort and interest in IITMAANA.
Of the 2300 registrants from North America, 1700 had valid email IDs at the time of sending the ballot. 510 valid votes were cast, which is a good percentage compared to previous years' voter participation. The voting procedures and software were developed by Ravi Pratap Maddimsetty (2001 BTCH). We thank Ravi for all the time and effort spent to make this election a resounding success.
To update the information in our database one need to re-register completely, as we do not have a user updatable function, yet. Registration page is at www.ece.rice.edu/~lavu/iitmaana/register.htm One can find out whether their contact information is current by reviewing the published list, which is two levels under the registration page.
The President, Vice-President and Treasurer positions were uncontested.
The next election to the Executive Board is tentatively scheduled for December of 2007 with a call for nominations in October of that year.
